Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pre-register?
Yes. We have limited seating and need to prepare food for the attendees. Your pre-registration on the web is required to attend. You must pre-register also for childcare.

What if I have to cancel?
If you can't attend, but have already registered, please send us an email so that we can free up your spot for the next attendee.

Do I have to stay the whole time?
No. Please feel free to attend as much of the conference as you can. If you are not going to participate in lunch, please let us know when you register.

What should I wear?
Come as you are.

Do I have to be a church member to attend?
Absolutely not! We welcome all adoptive or potentially adoptive parents or foster parents. We will present multiple sessions about how God's plan for building families includes adoption as a perfect "Plan A."

Do I have to be at any particular point in the adoption process to attend?
No. This session is a great place to get started or just to investigate. The atmosphere is casual, and there are many opportunities to talk to other adoptive families or just gather information from adoption agencies.

Am I committing to anything by coming to the conference?
No. This conference is an informal opportunity to get information and to get inspired for adoption and foster care. You will have the chance to meet many agency representatives and adoptive families. The follow up is up to you!

Are you sure this conference is free?
Absolutely! We want to provide the most open-door opportunity for families to learn more about adoption and foster care. By offering this conference for free, we are hoping that many people will take the first step to learning more and get connected.

Will I get training credit?
Many of the training sessions cover training topics required by the State of Texas and by the Hague Convention. You will have an opportunity to request a certificate of training, and the ministry team will provide this to you shortly after the conference is held.

Typically, you will need to work with your agency or with Texas DFPS to determine what courses will count toward your training requirements. The topics of the breakout sessions will be available in the archives section of the website for your agency training representative to review to determine the fulfillment of your training requirements.
